Escape Academy feels like trying to escape an actual escape room. The puzzles are usually well done, but achievable, and co-op works pretty well (allowing you to coordinate more than get in each other’s way).
The expansion for Escape Academy is fun, but feels more like random puzzles thrown together than an actual plot/story.
I can recommend escape sim! It’s fun, has loads of included maps and lots of dlcs. The VR port is pretty good and getting better.

No worries! I had actually decided not to buy the bundle because the separate VR listing on Steam confused me, so your comment was very helpful.
IS a free functionality. The game can already BR playd in VR mode.
And yes, I can confirm its a great game. It basically features unlimited content via community created rooms.
Geez I think I need to buy two of these so I can play with the kiddo on another pc
