Sweden’s public health agency has recorded what it says is the first case of a more dangerous type of mpox outside the African continent.
The person became infected during a stay in an area of Africa where there is currently a major outbreak of mpox Clade 1, the agency said.
as per wikipedia:
The virus enters the body through broken skin, or mucosal surfaces such as the mouth, respiratory tract, or genitals.
it would be very difficult to ensure every cut and scrape is covered up. there’s also the fact that animal bites can transmit the virus.
the best we can do, maybe, is try and limit human-to-human transmissions. diluted social distancing practices can help, perhaps?
