    Maybe it’s also that an overly simplistic model just isn’t that great at the end of the day?

    It also might be more appropriate to consider conservatism a derivative product of liberalism rather than counter or orthogonal to it, since conservatism effectively depends on liberalism as a baseline to be in retrograde by comparison. It also has its roots in liberalism.

    Sometimes I think the 4 point political compass has done more damage to political understanding than improved it.

    Putting everyone you disagree with on some but not all issues into a tribalistic “them” category does nothing but sow more division and entrenches those with small points of disagreements to instead have big disagreements with you.

    How about we don’t do more of that.

    Right-wing infighting would be something like primaries in the democratic party. This is just preventing fascism.
