America practices neoliberal imperialism. Israel is one of the main dogs they’ve propped up to unleash on the middle east so they don’t have to

Now the dog got loose in it’s neighborhood and America cannot get it back in their yard but also, they’re making money on it not being in the yard and likely will make more the longer they allow it to continue.

Israel will clear out and control natural resources America wants, Israel will spend money on American guns. Two things America loves

This one right here? Textbook antisemitism.

“Politicians do something I don’t like? Must be the rich jews in the background influencing them!!!”

That’s less than 3‰ of his campaign funds. I can’t Imagine that this would have changed his position. It could also have happened, that pro Israel groups ( like a metric fuck-ton of other people thought: “Let’s support this guy a bit, so Trump doesn’t win.”

For Biden specifically, yes. See my comment here https://lemmy.zip/comment/12687469.

But Israel has enormous influence in US politics. They are by a huge margin the biggest spenders in US politics among foreign nations. And they don’t care who you are as long you give them want they want.

Sheldon Adelson gave Trump 100 million for moving the US embassy to Jerusalem (which under international law doesn’t belong to them). Now Miriam Adelson wants to give him another 100 million if he supports Israels’s effort to illegally annex the Palestinians West Bank.

I saw on “Open Secrets” that Biden accepted over $1mil from Israel donations and have to wonder if it has impacted the DNC’s stance. I’m admittedly unfamiliar with the intricacies and open to information that would go against this assumption.

He’s a self-proclaimed Zionist, so in his eyes Israel can do no wrong. I think it’s one area where he can’t be moved, even if he didn’t take their money. It’s sad, really, that he tarnished his very good policy record and his legacy. He will forever be known as genocide Joe.
