That is such a great “Fuck you smile” she wears in that article.

“And that’s exactly what’s wrong with our political world right now. Partisan politics get in the way of actually accomplishing things …”

Ex bank executive who has a platform I agree with coming out of Florida, where am I and what year is it?

Although I tried, I couldn’t really come away any better than you did from that article other than to say that, as a Florida voter, I will be doing my best to affect change.

I’ll be voting in Orlando (for the first time since 2006) and a straight Democratic ticket (since always).

Why is the title about DeSantis instead of the candidate? We trying to get “any news is good news” for Republicans again?

I guess a Republican win is good for the media

DeSantis is such a pathetic little worm. He was flying high a couple years ago, I’m glad he’s being brought back down to earth before he gets kicked to the curb. Now, is he going to try to take out Rubio or Voldemort for a Senate seat, or does he just fade away with his high heel cowboy boots?

Not sure how other Floridians feel, but DeSantis seems to have a poison touch at the moment. And he’s not going to recover. If you come for the king, you best not miss.

He ran against trump. He thought he was popular enough to take the nomination from him. He got stomped. This is fairly obvious.

I think DeSantis was banking on Trump not running for a second term because he was in jail or too busy golfing or choked on some ketchup steak. Then he stubbornly pressed on when Trump entered the ring and there was no way he was going to outTrump Trump.

In 2022, Brundage was given a Spirit of the Community award by the Florida Commission on the Status of Women for bringing in tens of millions of dollars to the Tampa area with an international economic empowerment conference. Brundage received a letter of congratulations from DeSantis, who, it turns out, didn’t know Brundage was trans.

But news organizations did, and Brundage says DeSantis “dodged everybody’s request for comment on it. No comment. No comment. No comment. I announced my candidacy, of course, and talked about the letter. And then he finally responded — to the Daily Mail in the U.K. And he told them that he would have never given me the award if he had known that I was a transgender woman.”

    […]

“So none of that has changed, but because he knows my political affiliation, all of a sudden, he wants to say that he wouldn’t have given me that award. And that’s exactly what’s wrong with our political world right now. Partisan politics get in the way of actually accomplishing things that are good for our economy.”

Good for her and fuck him.
