    Hrm, is it narrative-driven like the page claims? Or is it a roguelike? Because this sounds interesting, but not if it doesn’t have a proper story with a proper ending and all.

      I feel like you can do both these days, can’t you? Hades was one of the first to break this ground.

        Yeah but it’s also been the only one I’ve seen pull it off since then. Everyone else just doesn’t really do a story, just some loose lore.

          I feel like Cobalt Core did it pretty well for an indie game…not nearly on the same level as Hades but each win unlocks a memory from a character and the story is slowly revealed. Once you see all the memories, you get a final mission (that I will not spoil here). Narrative elements progress during runs, too.

          It’s kinda just lore like you describe so I might be giving it too much credit but I really liked the way it unfolds and wasn’t expecting the “twists” as you find out the real motivations of each crew mate. It’s also a really fun game

    Love that the art style reminds me of a grown-up version of Rugrats. Looks interesting and fun. I’ll have to wishlist it for the current price.
