Ukraine’s Air Force used F-16 jets as part of its defense against Russia’s mass missile and drone attack on Aug. 26, President Volodymyr Zelensky confirmed during a press conference on Aug. 27.

Russia targeted 15 of Ukraine’s 24 oblasts on Aug. 26, launching over 200 missiles and drones as part of the largest-ever aerial attack against Ukraine.

. . .

F-16s gave “a very good result,” Zelensky told reporters. “As part of this huge attack, we shot down some missiles and drones with the help of F-16s.”

Good to hear the F-16 are of use.

Kyiv has been promised at least 79 F-16s from the Netherlands, Denmark, Norway, and Belgium.

With currently only 10 F-16, it should make quite a difference when they have received all 79. That’s actually a pretty decent amount of fighter jets.

Allegedly Russia can make around 18 fighter jets per year, while the west produce around 260.
These 79 planes are from 4 small countries, Imagine if 4 big ones did something similar!!!

Before the embargoes, maybe. Strong doubt if they’re even running a net positive nowadays

Yes the embargo is a problem for Russia, but according to the article, this is achieved by prioritizing war planes over everything else. meaning civilian are probably near zero.

We should give them mothballed Tornados as well, those things may be old but versatile.

Russia was also the second strongest military on paper. We see how that’s going.

Also which jets? God knows they aren’t 57s.
