China 🇨🇳 looks like this because it spends its money on infrastructure, not wars.
If US 🇺🇸 reduced military spending to match the Chinese level, it would free $500 billion a year. That could fund quite a lot of high quality infrastructue?

That’s quite cherrypicked. You can find an area of almost any country that looks like that.
Besides the obvious point that China also commits human rights abuses.
