It’s such an unfortunate moment for him. He’s either super low on confidence or under immense pressure.

Saw this happen and just shook my head. I don’t recall the last time I’ve seen a driver collapse so quickly and spectacularly.

Currently reading Damon Hill’s book. His decline in 99 was spectacular but that was because he wanted out of F1.

I’m struggling to think of a driver who has absolutely collapsed like Checo in the same season. He is straight up not having a good time.

But other than the first quali, he was pretty awful all season wasn’t he? He wasn’t winning and pushing for championship lead then turning into an disaster. It was hard to watch though.

Yeah, it was more the expectation that he’d be up with Lando on pace and Renault was just a blip

He was never a top driver. The car was further ahead of the rest at the start of the season and he had some luck during the races, but anyone who ever thought he was going to be challenging for the title was kidding themselves.

This is all an elaborate plan for Red Bull to show the new floor to the other teams, only this time the floor was developed to be shit. So now all teams will be chasing the shit floor that RB developed here.

Or at least that’s what I want to believe in. Send help please

I mean… Perez could not put himself under more pressure if he tried. Drive at 98-99% for a while until you are back in the groove. This is not it

Im not sure he can even do that, it seems it’s either super conservative and he isn’t faster than the other cars or pushes too hard and makes mistakes.

As a Checo fan, this is really painful to watch. Every week I hope he gets himself back together and brings the fight to Max. But it seems, more and more, that being Max’s teammate is a career killer.

Makes me wonder if Bottas had similar pressures and just managed them better or if Lewis is just a better teammate.

I think Lewis is a better teammate and just in general better person than max. He was constantly Valterris true friend and supporter the whole time, yea he was always crushing him on track but max has done the same on track to his mates and not been near as supportive. Maybe it’s just the Dutch vs English culture but there’s is a noticeable difference in how they’ve both acted towards teammates.

Even when George is being a whiny shit-stick, Lewis is still nice and supportive

My take on English attitude towards this type of situation is ‘all nice if on top but get weird if not’.
I would not try to make Englishness a virtue which ‘explains’ things.

Remember, this is the island of binge drinking brexit idiots, lets get some perspective on the over-hyped and mythical British ‘correctness’. This was never a thing really. It was cultivated though, creating myths is a quality they have and gladly believe.

I’m just saying the Dutch are very blunt and the English tend to be maybe a little more fake in an effort to be nice or save peoples feelings.

I think perez time with red bull is going to end if he doesn’t show in the next Gran Prix some action.

If RIC got to come back to RBR (seems more likely race by race) I hope he puts up a good fight with Max and not relegated to Driver 2.

The only way he gets the seat would be if he confirms his role as second driver. No way that RB is going to allow two fighting drivers, especially not with the show Checo is putting up currently, after explicitly challenging Max. All was well for Checo when he was “just” the second driver. Which is the job he was hired to do.

We need to see how Ric performs at AT. If Tsunoda outscores him over the remaining races then it will be difficult to justify why they’d promote Ric over Tsu.
