I hate that I have to ask this but the internet is awash in garbage these days and I hate sorting through it. Does anyone have a link to a good new player guide for this game? I installed it on Tumbleweed and tried it for a few minutes but had absolutely no clue what was going on. The love everyone has for this game makes me want to give a decent shot though!

Every stupidly situational thing will save your life at some point, your runs that succeed will be stitched together of those types of moments, and you’ll lose everything you ever get attached to to some fucking enemy you couldn’t avoid a melee slugfest with when you miss 23 attacks in a row because you were out of alternatives.

Well in my brief foray into the game I definitely had the first part down.
Then ur doing great. Keep on doing that and the second step will come by itself
I wouldn’t quite say by itself: You need to take a bit of time when you die to figure out why you died and what to try and change about your approach for next time
