An Ohio man was denied a position on his village’s council despite being the only applicant, and the council president’s reasoning was pretty blatant.

Time to lawyer up and beat that city council down for blatant discrimination on the basis of protective class.

Colvin then asked to submit to the record remarks on why he did not support Nation, saying that he was “very concerned about DEI policies being advocated in our municipality,” according to the outlet*.*

Ew. And then the guy was on vacation on the day folks were coming to speak in support of Nation.

And yet, you still have some gay people out there supporting Trump. Leopards never run out of idiot faces to eat.

Only if someone else leaves the position. They’ll appoint someone to fill the seat until the next election. Famously, former Illinois governor Rod Blagojevich went to prison for trying to sell Barack Obama’s senate seat after he was elected president as his Senate term had not yet ended.

Not where I’m from, but I guess it varies with location. I don’t live in such a small village either.

He also talks about running for election in 2025, so perhaps it was a sudden vacancy and temporary appointment until election

…. But I’ve never lived in such a small village
