Hey everyone, I was just wondering if anyone had had the chance to try out these two apps. Which do you prefer? What are the pros and cons of each?

I haven’t used Natural Atlas, but I have All trails and it’s alright. Be careful, though, as it often lists hikes that will lead you to trespass on private property.

I’m also curious. I have friends that use All Trails and say that is good, but haven’t known anyone that has used Natural Atlas and is able to compare.

What’s good about Natural Atlas is that it gives you a 7-day free trail subscription.

I’ve used it for a year and I like the way the maps look and it’s a pretty good app, but I gravitate towards AllTrails for some reason. Maybe because AllTrails is currently more popular and has recent trip reports.

I haven’t used Natural Atlas, but AllTrails is fine. It helps to discover good hikes, but its mapping of the trail can be bad at times. I’ve been on a few hikes where AllTrails wanted me to go off the marked trail or straight through lakes. Despite that, it isn’t that bad if you trust the trail signage and the trail conditions over what AllTrails says.

AllTrails is great but boy does it chew up my battery on my phone.
