You can place the blame anywhere, but I just blame myself…that’s the only person I can blame because that’s all you can do. Obviously I didn’t do something, I don’t know what it was. For me, again, frustrating is maybe not the word, because again my last couple of years I met my future wife there, I made mad connections, the locker room was always awesome. As far as creatively, I mean yeah, there would have been more I’d like to do. Just again, mostly for the fans that want to see me do stuff, not even for me. It’s more frustrating for me to see the fans want me to go out there and actually do something of some substance. I was out there a lot, I was on television a lot, I was used a lot. But the quality of what I was doing specifically wasn’t there. There was a lot of quantity of Ricochet, but the quality of what he was getting just wasn’t what I wanted.

He’s been my favorite back when I used to watch WWE and it’s always been frustrating to see how the writing team treated him. He’s an incredible athlete and probably would have made it elsewhere, however WWE simply prefers bulky guys. Let’s see if AEW works out for him.

I need to see if his promo game changes.

One of the best goddamn wrestlers in the world, but as far as I’ve ever seen him (which has basically just been WWE), his promo abilities have been his biggest weakness. Like 2 outa 10 bad. That could just be him not being able to swallow the bullshit script from Vince (at the time), but I need to see if he can improve that.

On the indies, fuck the promo he can just go and give ya 10/10 main eventing and winning titles. In AEW he may hit the same ceiling promo wise if it’s him and not the scripts that were the issue. That being said even if he’s the worst promo in the world, AEW will still be glad to use him for his ring skills so he’ll be much better off one way or the other, plus I have no doubt he’ll hit up all the indies.

There are so many things that can be done with a Manager though. Sure, he may never be able to be a white meat baby face world champion, or always in the hottest fueds, but he can easily carry a workhorse belt for a decade.

Oh absolutely. My concerns promo-wise are with if they put him in the world title picture (which ya never know, but I don’t think they will). You need to be a good talker. Even Roman talks and he has fucking Heyman to talk for him which is as good as you can get. Hell for all we know he could be Shakespeare when doing promo’s naturally, we’ll see soon.

Every other title AEW has? Zero problems in my book. Could sound like Eugene when giving promos and I think he’d be fantastic lol.

Who would be your ideal manager for him?

I think there is a lot of good story to be told if Callis recruits him to get back at Ospreay.

That sounds like it would work well. Do you have any picks if he had stayed with WWE?

Tbh I haven’t watched WWE since NXT went to shit, so I don’t really feel I’d have a good pick.

Them’s is fightin’ words. Seriously though, in your opinion, what do you not like about it?

This right here. He was repped by Konan in Lucha Underground and I believe did not speak for quite a while. It worked fine for that setting. If I remember right, I saw people saying he shouldn’t have started talking. Until he can further a story on the mic he was always going to be another midcard in WWE. AEW should work much better for him in my opinion. Mic skills don’t need to be as strong, and I feel he will have a little more freedom in the ring to go wild
