Some of my favorite subreddits were Criterion and BoutiqueBluRay, any other users trying to migrate?

Honestly, I have so many that I’m a little embarrassed to show people the first time they come over. I basically have my own private video rental store in my house.
Well now we’re going to have to see that!
Doing some renovations at the moment but I’ll give it a separate post at some point in the future!
Excellent. I am still unpacking and building shelves. I may take a while.
“Collector” might be a strong word for me, but I like to buy more obscure B movies - foreign, action, horror. I have this fear that someday, in our streaming future, they will no longer available - e.g. 1978’s The Manitou. I also buy mainstream movies but I don’t worry, for example, that Terminator 2 will become unavailable.
Oh yeah, big time! I’ve started collecting Steelbooks as of late now that I know how many of the movies I want have steelbook versions.
Collector of 80s and 90s action movies. Love to check out the fullhd and 4k remasters. Some are very good, others like The Karate Kid not so. Do you digitalise your collection too?
I have about 8 criterion films personally, my city’s library has a really good stock of them so I can watch them without commitment!
I love in an area where the internet is so bad it’s not worth the money to pay for it. I have been increasing my physical dvd/bluray collection for a number of years now. I ran out of space so I bought a ton of the thin cases and have slowly been switching everything over. It has tripled my space, which means I can buy more movies!
I am always so disappointed when I can’t find something in physical media. The Brink tv show is my biggest white whale.
I used to and still have a not really impressive but cumbersome VHS and DVD collection, but I can’t really afford to collect physical media anymore. Even if I could, finding space for it all is difficult.
I really miss physical media for a few reasons. I know that streaming services have started flirting with the idea of bonus features, but as someone who was interested in filmmaking, mostly not having access to behind-the-scenes and other special features with most of the films I watch has been really sad for me. I also like owning the media, being able to watch it when the internet is down, things like that. But… Man, when money is tight and space is tighter, it is really tough to keep up a physical media collection.
I collect some criterion. I went absolutely overboard about a year ago and spent hundreds on them. Ended up ripping then selling 80% and keeping movies I truly truly love. Currently have Moonage Daydream on preorder, very excited.
I have a pretty good collection
