Here’s a priority for them: drop out endorse Kamala. Stop sapping votes from the left, you’ll let Trump win the electorial college and doom the world.

Personally, I applaud the third parties’ attempts at breaking up the duopoly. It’s about time someone challenges the status quo instead of blindly endorsing it.

These parties can never win an election, and their thirst for ballot access only hurts their ideals. Their fervent supporters and endorsers seem to piss off everyone around them while they tilt at windmills.

You call it tilting at windmills, but I call it fighting for real change—if these parties weren’t a threat to the status quo, they wouldn’t be so furious about their presence on the ballot!

they are not a threat to the status quo, they only spread their loser status around. Then guess which party is making policy?

It baffles me that you see voting for them as “fighting for real change”.

Because he or she doesn’t really see it that way. If these parties really wanted real change, they would be fighting for local and state elections that they could actually win, and enact change from the bottom. They would not be aiming for the presidency which they literally cannot win. The only possible real world effect of their candidacies is to tilt the American elections to the fascists and allow them to take over the USA which result in, among other horrors, the genocide of the Palestinian people that this poster claims to support.

By the way, the individual you are responding to has spent that last month or so, since their account was created, posting and commenting thousands of times in support of third party candidates - about once every twelve minutes or so. Their commitment is really quite… breathtaking. In that time they have been engaged with by many posters, including myself, who have explained it all to them quite clearly. They either simply refuse to believe it or are incapable of understanding. Make of all that what you will.

To save you all some time:

I posted an article that’s already widely available on a much bigger platform than Lemmy. I didn’t write it or create the content. It’s already out there for anyone to see, so all I did was share it here for discussion. If you disagree with the article itself, that’s fine, but calling for it to be censored or accusing me of pushing an agenda simply because it’s not what you want to read is misguided and lazy. Open debate requires different perspectives, not shutting down content you don’t like.

It’s not my job to convince you that I’m not a Republican, that I don’t live in Russia, or that despite posting hundreds of socialist articles to the socialist community, I’m somehow not a socialist. If that’s what you want to believe, cool, then go ahead and think that. Not my problem. :)

If you’re getting worked up over a news article I didn’t even write, that’s on you. Be mad if you want, but I’m under no obligation to prove anything to you. I’ll share my opinion, and you can take it or leave it. Either way, not my problem.

In the past, when I’ve tried to defend myself, people accuse me of not listening. If I stay quiet, they take it as guilt.

Here’s the deal: I’m still going to post what I want in this community because what I’m posting fits within the theme and guidelines of this community which celebrates diversity of thought and opinion.

So, go ahead and expect me to copy and paste this comment into the many, many arguments you’re going to try and start. Whether you believe me or not, I don’t have to prove anything to you. I’ll share my opinion, and you can take it or leave it. Not my problem. :)

So which should I do? Not reply and be guilty by silence. Or reply to the exact same accusations every comment, but with a different reason every single time? And then get called stupid for not understanding?

OR, ok, and this is the one I’ll do, I’ll just continue doing as I do. Posting political news articles (that I didn’t even write by the way) from WAY more publicly read websites than Lemmy, to this political news community.
