I search for “technology” in communities, and this is my result. I was expecting the biggest communities to be easy to find. Couldn’t find the main one I was looking for anywhere in the huge list of 2 or 3 member communities.
Shouldn’t a community that’s just called “technology @whatever” be above a small community that might have technology in its description?
Not sure if this is a Lemmy issue not a Memmy issue

This has absolutely nothing to do with Memmy, we just return the results from Lemmy.
I’ve found that mlem gives much better search results, but memmy is the overall the better client for reading. I stopped using memmy for search.
Ah, it looks like they just sort the results by subscriber count?
I know this isn’t inside the Memmy app yet, but does https://www.search-lemmy.com provide something more to what you’d expect?
There is an open issue to see about adding this as an alternative (with a toggle) to the app.
