I see “TOS point and click” and can only think of “Terms of Service point and click”… what does this actually stand for?

The other side? TOp Side? It’s definitely not “Thoracic outlet syndrome”…

It’s shorthand for The Original Series, which a lot of trekkies use when talking about the first show with Kirk and Spock.

Kudos for inventiveness, though! Thoracic outlet syndrome got me 😂

Star Trek The Next Generation Final Unity is one of the best Star Trek games made to date. It’s a point and click adventure game that essentially has you going through a long episode of Star Trek with a few different set pieces and plots.

I think many video games miss the point of Star Trek and fail to capture the spirit of the show, but this one tells a story that could have been a handful of episodes.

I have a lot of fond nostalgia for A Final Unity, but the two TOS point & click games are way better designed. Plus they’re far easier to get hold of, since they’re sold on GOG while Final Unity isn’t available digitally anywhere.

That said, Final Unity is still good and if you prefer TNG then find a way to play that!

I’m sure there’s a way to still play it? I’m not sure how but I’ll look into it

Star Trek: Resurgence is relatively new. The graphics are pretty janky at times and it performs somewhat strangely, but it does feel like a 10-hour episode of post-TNG Trek, so I enjoyed it.

I couldn’t play it because of the horrible save system, where it just randomly saves sometimes and you have no control over it.

It seems to be scene based. So if you have already watched 5 mins of content within the same scene, I’d expect to see it again if you quit before the scene change. It is annoying but I just stop playing at scene changes.

I liked ST Online. End game kinda sucks for me, but the episodic missions I found to be fun and enjoyable n line (mostly) with Trekness.

And it’s free. Download, do a Federation character, then switch it up with a Klingon/Romulon character.

It’s by no means a perfect game, but it’ll scratch an itch if you have it.

Starfleet Academy was very good. Bridge Commander was excellent. The Armada games and Domination War have already been mentioned but I’ll second them.

Was lucky enough to have a sit-down cabinet version of Star Trek: Strategic Operations Simulator (Sega, 1983) at a local arcade. Very comfortable with the controls built into the chair. Along with having set all the games to free play, the operator had the volume cranked on this one so Nimoy’s voice would resonate inside!

Not Star Trek but heavily inspired, Starship Simulator seems to be the perfect Star Trek sim with scientific exploration in mind.

It’s not even an Alpha at the moment but there is a demo that made me fall in love with the project in less than 3 minutes.
