Don’t worry Sony, after your ridiculous price hike on your dumb online extortion club, you’ve gone to the bottom of the list for my purchases anyway. My PS5 hasn’t even been plugged in for months now. I should probably just sell it.

Same. My Steam Deck has completely replaced my PS5. Sure, it’s not as powerful, but it’s got a much, much larger selection of games, it’s completely customizable, any controller works with it, and most importantly, it’s from a company that actually still has a conscience.

If I really must play a AAA game, I run it from my PC and use remote play to stream to the Deck, which works perfectly.

With Sony putting its best exclusives onto Steam and the ease of emulating Switch games, there’s really no reason to own any other console.

700 for the console, 80 for the Disc drive, and who knows what for the vertical stand on top of that. You are looking at probably 800 USD before any sales tax to get it all. Then you have to pay another 80-160 a year for a PS+ level, it just feels greedy.

The AI upscaling had best be top notch if they want these things to sell, because I’m not seeing a lot of reasons to upgrade from the base model here.

How many titles are even PS5 exclusive anymore? Better graphics doesn’t make a better game, especially at that ridiculous price point. It’s still likely to sell enough to encourage Sony to keep doing this because people are stupid and willing to pay.
