The weekly title, the world’s oldest Jewish newspaper,

Is “The Weekly Title” the name of a different newspaper? How am I supposed to parse this sentence?

“Title” just seems to be used as a synonym for newspaper to avoid repetition.

Thanks for that. I’d usually see ‘publication’ or ‘print’ or the like. Just a brain connection not being made, I guess.

Perry told the Observer that the JC had made a “huge mistake” in announcing the deletion of his articles. He described the criticism as a “witch-hunt … caused by jealousy from Israeli journalists and outlets who could not obtain the details that I managed to”.

As Trump has proved, any time someone criticizes you it’s because shadowy forces are targeting you. /s

From a linked article, regarding speculation on who owns the paper:

Three sources told me they believed that a large slice of the money for the JC came from a right-wing American billionaire, Paul E Singer, sometimes referred to as a “vulture capitalist”. Singer is the founder of Elliott Management and made a fortune—estimated at $6bn—by buying distressed debts and selling them for high value.

Neat. But the real question is, which side fabricates the best?
