Husband sent me this pic that he found on the site formerly known as Twitter. I’m impressed that they either found sock yarn/#10 thread in dayglo yellow, or that they used basic cotton thread and found dayglo yellow fabric dye.

I am not a lady and do not cycle, but i’d 100% buy it to keep in a car. Because it is crazy. Love it.

    Sock yarn?

That stuff in the pic is much too thick for socks

Pretty sure this was made as-seen OR photoshopped, not dyed.

I was thinking this is actually thinner than sock yarn. Looks very similar to the lacy doilies that my grandmothers made of something more like 0 or 1. The connecting bits are actually braided or single crochet…so from a distance it looks like thicker yarn than it is. Either way…I love this and kinda want one now.

        I was thinking the same.

Fine crochet cotton comes in a large variety of colours and many of them can be quite bright.

Diamond yarns Cléa (and their fine knitting weight cotton Anne) have always had colours like that, including variegated versions. Both of these are made by Circulo in Brazil.

Cléa colours can be found on this distributors page. The ‘Citrus Green’ looks very much like the photo. There is also a high-res Lemon and at least 3 different high res orange to red varieties.

I used to knit and crochet a lot with the fingering weight Anne. I was able to ask a local yarn store to bring in additional colours that I chose as long as I would buy enough of the bag of balls.

Other mercerized cottons for crochet have interesting colours and shiny finishes as well.
