So obviously I played Slay the spire and now I’m looking for more. Which game did you play in the genre that scratched that particular itch the best?

I like Fights in Tight Spaces if you’re into the cinematic sort of thing.

    Inscryption is really good.

Not sure what the etiquette is on necroposting but:

    • Griftlands is the game that I think most sort of bowled me over and surprised me with what it’s possible for games to do. Each character has two different decks, one for combat and one for conversation, each of which has pretty good depth. It also has a strong narrative component and solid writing, although sort of by the same token it doesn’t have the indefinite replayability of StS
    • Monster Train and Wildfrost are both pretty fun and look great, but not as well tuned in terms of gameplay
    • Others that I’m never sunk quite as much time into:
      • Iris and the Giant
      • Nowhere Prophet
      • Inscryption (which is incredible, but I never felt the urge to replay it)
      • Sings of the Sojourner
      • Dungeon Drafters
      • Steamworld Quest

Monster Train. Just like StS it’s one of those games that I’ll always have installed and keep returning to.

Hmm I see Night of the full moon is free to play, so I might as well try it. Thanks. I see what you mean regarding Dungeon cards, it’s different, but looks kinda unique.
