Aircraft assembly workers walked off the job early Friday at Boeing factories in Washington, Oregon and California after union members voted overwhelmingly to reject a tentative contract that would have increased wages by 25% over four years. The strike by 33,000 machinists was expected to halt the manufacture of Boeing’s best-selling airliners, and is yet another setback for a company already awash in financial losses and damage to its reputation.
Jimmy and Americans’ Comedian Kurt Metzger discuss the ongoing problems Boeing executives have been responsible for during recent years and how workers have frequently had to bear the brunt of the consequences.
“Jimmy Dore is outrageous and outraged, bothersome and bothered. A crucial, profane, passionate voice for progressives and free-thinkers in 21st century America. Jimmy will anger you if you’re a conservative and enrage you if you’re a liberal.”—Patton Oswalt
