    I usually try to avoid partisan thinking, but I’m glad to see Intel faltering. AMD began to out perform Intel in the early 2000s AND were cheaper and Intel responded, not by improving their product, but by using their monopoly to sabotage performance on competitor CPUs via special compiler instructions. For some time this gave Intel the appearance of being the better choice for performance and AMD market share suffered. Luckily for all of us, AMD survived this preventing Intel from having an uncontested monopoly . Intel survives on a reputation they don’t deserve it live up to.
