For profit prisons need to be made unconstitutional. If someone is dangerous enough to be in prison, that cost should be borne by the state/federal government. This would reduce the incentive to keep people in prison and would likely lead to some justice system reform.

The fact that prisons literally profit off of the work of their inmates means the prisons have every incentive to tarnish their I mate’s records to keep them in prison as long as possible. This system is also as ripe as can be for corruption.
