The framing of that article that the writers of the Constitution established some genius system in the Electoral College is a fantasy at odds with the historical reality. The Electoral College was born of compromise and a simple lack of technology to conduct a national popular vote. The writers themselves saw it as barely justifiable even when they wrote it, and it’s certainly completely unjustifiable today. The only people still fighting for it are those who want to impose tyranny even when they can’t win the majority of the vote.
Its stupid, just count every vote with the same fucking weight like a normal place.

No. You vote for your state stuff and you vote for your federal government, these are separate things and the votes should be counted equally, equality is a necessity to a good version of democracy.
The founding fathers hated democracy. They knew it would lead to idiots voting for the wrong things.
That’s why we vote for people to represent us.

The idea is the majority vote for stupid things. The people we vote it are supposed to balance it with intelligence. Just because children want extra candy doesn’t mean they should get the the candy.

Socioeconomic problems are actually there and need to be solved. Not wanting to solve them out of spite is the worst form of mental illness i can imagine.
