Not voting for him, but I think I understand the mentality. He first spoke to the working class and more precisely those who had lower incomes. He promised better veterans benefits, higher pay, more jobs, blah blah blah.
He hit many sensitive buttons that people are passionate about and people ate it up.
But all he ultimately did was made it easier for big companies to get bigger and line his own pockets

Politics is complicated, and depressing and difficult to learn about. When a reality tv host hires the most corrupt public relations team he can and pitches it to a pro-wrestling level demographic a lot of them respond. Anti-intellectualism as well as people just sick of the system that in general, Republicans have pushed to make as frustrating and unusable as possible over the past 20-30 years.
Also not voting for him but I have to know a lot of them for the work I do.
As an American I wonder the same question…how stupid are these people‽
