This might be a really random question, but I don’t know much about poetry and I’m not sure where else to ask. Why do poems like this have stanza breaks in the middle of sentences? Is there some kind of poetry convention for it?
I read it like a verbal reader takes a breath there. It changes the timing and the feeling of it.
It allows for shifts in time and emphasis.
