That’s what the bowls are for. To catch any drips.

The bowls that look like dog bowls, one having food in it?

I can’t explain it, but all the bidets I’ve seen (mainly continental Europe) have been like this.

They are usually placed a bit closer, so the move from the toilet to the bidet is just a scooch over.

I’ve seen them sparingly in some nice houses and hotels here in the US, but they were never common. But even as a US native, these are what come to mind when I hear the word “bidet.” Not the hoses that hook up to toilet bowls.

I’ve never actually seen a hose attachment type irl. Neither are popular in the uk.

I think the bidet is to wash feet, but I could be wrong

Yes. It’s the old style. Before they had the tech for the under seat ones. Some didn’t even have fountains and you’d fill it up and wash your ass with your hands.

Why not the hung-on-wall showerhead types? Is this second bowl design more common than the handheld one?

I still can’t figure out how to use the showerhead while sitting. I always stand up. I guess the bidet fits people who likes to sit

Some (most?) Italians will do a bit of wiping and the move over. I guess you can even stand up and then sit on the bidet without wiping, as you’ll wash the whole area anyway?

Often used for quickly washing your pits, bits and feet. Not just as an automated ass wiper.

That is a REAL bidet from long before anyone ever thought of a toilet hookup. You’ll find these throughout Europe and South America. Even the poorest houses have them.

Ok this is a beautiful bathroom. But obviously the armchair is weird as hell.

However what I’m really concerned about is why there are pet food bowls RIGHT BETWEEN the toulet and bidet! Why are they even in the bathroom? Discostang

I was gonna say that the arm chair makes sense to go with the vanity area, but then I noticed that there is an ottoman type seat that nicely sides under the vanity counter.

the person in the chair does not have the toilet in their line of sight. this is for tasteful conversation, clearly, or reflection, or therapy. this is not staged, just an elightened rest room.

A fancy rug in a bathroom? Imagine if grandma visited and had to use that toilet very badly
