This weekend we got the conclusion to The Venture Bros. One of my favorite shows that’s stuck around for years even if seasons were released sporadically. Loved the movie. It closes enough plot threads without overdoing it. Lots of good character moments.

Anyone else watch this? What did you think?

I was looking for this on the streaming service formerly known as HBO Max but double checked again and it’s still not up. I think I misinterpreted the digital streaming release date as a Max release when it’s really just the release where you can pay to digitally rent it?

Is it actually on Max or did you have to pay to rent it?

Just pirate the danged thing. They already canceled the show so it’s not as if we need to boost the viewership numbers.

I watched it a few days ago and it was a nice bow wrapped up on the story.

You bring up a good point and I didn’t realize the entire show was going to be leaving Max in August which definitely suggests the movie won’t ever stream on there. Normally I’d see if I have enough rental rewards credits saved up for it but it’s only available to buy and I still have to schedule a stupid phone call to reactivate my apple ID before I can even purchase anything anyway. So…

Just finished this last night. Some of the best Venture Bros content we’ve gotten to date, and I think it was a fantastic way to bookend the show. Just wish we got an entire season of content instead of 4 episodes worth in a movie, but Doc Hammer and Jackson Publick gave us the best they could with the budget they were given and then some. It all feels so bittersweet now that it’s finally over. Go Team Venture forever.

(On that note, don’t miss out on the last shirt club 🙂)
