Hello friends of /c/green

In recent weeks we have introduced a weekly observations thread in /c/collapse - with success I would say. We average 10-25 comments per week and see some nice discussion and a few regular posters in these threads.

Motivated by those positive results I would like so introduce a similar thread here but with a more general slant on environmentalism, gardening, nature observation and everything related!

Tell us about your work in a environmentalist community group! 💪

Tell us how your native flower patch is doing this year! 🌱

Share some pics of the cool bug you saw on your last hike! 🐛

Due to the fact that I will be moving places later this summer, I decided back in March that I would plant some bee flower seed mix on my tiny balcony instead of the usual vegetables. I got the for free from a good friend who works for a nature conservation society.

The results have been great! I constantly see bumblebees, hoverflies, honeybees and all kinds of wild bee species around my flowers. It feels great to provide a tiny feeding spot in a place that is surround by agricultural monocultures and I can only recommend it to everyone who has even the tiniest bit of space left in their garden or on their balcony.

I recently got certified to work with Salesforce Net Zero Cloud and I’m really hoping I get to take on some NZC projects

(This is not spam, I’m just hoping to finally contribute to something ESG related)

Congratulations! I know absolutely nothing about what you said. Care to break down what a net zero cloud is?

It’s basically a tool that helps organizations count their carbon emissions and set goals for reducing them.

I work directly on scope 1+2 reporting. Good luck understanding all the nuance in your ESG role. I’m loving being in sustainability too.

Mix of NetZero Cloud, a few other vendors, and home grown. I don’t work on the source systems, just combining them all.

So much for green while supporting unsustainability with Microsoft closed source products (Yeah there’s apple too, giving that one the benefits of the doubts for now), plus the addiction industry of processed food and sugar & nootropics.

That’s object-oriented neural programming, stereotypical with corporate advertisements.

I think you are over thinking the photo. I think it meant to just draw people in and get them to think about green spaces and sustainablity in their life and maybe want to talk about it.

The photo has reminded me though I work half the day outside I’m not taking time to appreciate it and should make more of an effort to do so.
