I try to remember this when I read about history. A lot of the accounts from Rome are from people with their own bias and now they get taken as facts. Also that Dr that was shunned by his fellow doctors and went to an insane asylum. The crime of this doctor? Telling his peers to wash their hands before delivery a baby.
The boxer rebellion was pretty crazy. Like every major world power came together and slaughtered a bunch of unarmed guerillas and thousands that were nearby, while burning down Beijing.
