This was my cat’s favorite spot. Unfortunately, my bathroom sink had a flip-up lever faucet and no overflow drain, so one night I woke up to find my carpet completely soaked with water. He had gotten up and inadvertently (maybe) flipped up the lever while also pushing the drain plug down into place.
TBF he had woken me up by jumping up on my chest and batting me in the face, so clearly he sensed that something was wrong with all that water.
The opposite of dogs that when they make a mess they sit quietly with the “I didn’t do it” look on their face
