I thought the “waffle house index” was more of a post-hurricane measurement of how quickly basic necessities (water, electricity, etc) and supply chains were recovering.
Fun and irrelevant Waffle House fact: Waffle House has only been allowed to be called that in Indiana relatively recently because there was already a diner chain in Indiana called Waffle House when the famous one started. They had to call themselves Waffle Steak.
The other Waffle House went out of business and now all is right with the universe.
(We used to go to the other Waffle House when I was in high school and play Risk at 2 am because we were wild party animals.)
Because each letter is a separate sign, they only have to replace four letters instead of the whole sign. Genius.
Or you could say they have to replace four signs now.
They could probably get by with just fixing 3 of them. The hole in the “O” is round, so it still kind-of works. lol
Why do I both hate this and live this?
