Aid to several communities impacted by Hurricane Helene was temporarily paused in parts of North Carolina over the weekend due to reports of threats against Federal Emergency Management Agency responders, amid a backdrop of misinformation about responses to recent storms.

Or, purposefully delaying aid to a community so you can continue spreading misinformation that “they” won’t help you and you need to rely on us?

Never attribute to malice what can be attributed to stupidity. But also don’t assume malice can’t be the motive, even if the action is stupid.

Seriously, why isn’t the national guard protecting the FEMA people?

      • The National Guard has to be requested by the governor. Look at who’s the governor in Florida: he’s on the side of, and is stirring up, the militias. He’s not going to call out the Guard against his own people.

Because last time the feds aggressively went after right wing kooks a federal building was blown up. Not saying that’s a good reason, but that’s pretty much the reason.

      • This has happened several times. Not the federal building part, but Waco was a PR disaster despite the people at Waco being a dangerous cult; and the feds outright lost against the terrorists at the Malheur National Wildlife Refuge. They lost the conflict, and then they lost in the courts.

It’s enough to give militias hope, which is pretty pathetic.
