Looking for some cool, smaller youtube channels to watch. Anyone got suggestions for anything cool? I especially enjoy stuff related to food or farming.
Dr Raoul McLaughlin has some interesting older uploads about ancient Roman contact with China.
Myron Cook (a retired geologist) can be interesting, but has a younger target audiance
Nick Zentner is a geology 101 teacher at the University of Washington and does a lot of interesting content
Parallax Nick does astronomy history content that is really good.
Geology Hub is 5× larger than the limit but is a relatively new, fast rising must watch for what is really happening in geology news like reporting about all active volcanoes and events in short 5 minute vids
Looks like geology is under appreciated IMO/watch list.
Another good larger one is Stephen Milo.
this might be right up your alley then:
another fun one that isnt geology, but anthropology:
A little bit more basic story telling would be Dates and Dead Guys telling the story of Apaches and Comanches that is pretty watchable.
A rather interesting but little known channel is Harvard and the Smithsonian’s CfA Colloquium
If you’re into electronics, Curious Marc is rebuilding the Apollo communication system and is an old Bell Labs guy.
Another little known Bell Labs guy talking software is DJ Ware
Not related to food or farming, but here it goes.
Minecraft YouTuber with potential: https://youtube.com/@thatpsysquatch
Arch Linux content with a very calm and friendly disposition: https://youtube.com/@eflinux
Traditional Wetshshaving. Again, a very calm and friendly disposition: https://youtube.com/@nickshaves
Unfortunately not food or farming related, the only one I subscribe to under 50k is Ken Whittier. https://youtube.com/@kenwhittier7243
He’s a strength and conditioning coach at Boston university, so all of his information should be accurate and he posts about a wide variety of topics, from sports exercises to more postural or injury prevention/recovery. I like having his videos pop up in my feed every so often, its good motivation.
closest to sub-50k I could find in my list of channels - some actually are, some are a bit over:
