Rules

1. Civility, Respect and Mindfulness

Any abuse such as attacks, flaming, insults, harassment, incitement, toxicity and trolling is not tolerated. Avoid offensive, disruptive, inflammatory language or behavior and posting content in bad faith.

Keep it civil, remember the human and be mindful. It’s fine to agree to disagree if it leads nowhere constructive. Follow the Lemmy.World Content Policy.

2. Discrimination, Racism or Sectarianism

Any discrimination, hate or bigotry including but not limited to race, religion, nationality, gender, sex or orientation is not tolerated.

Any extremist ideologies, especially based on ethnic supremacy, religious fundamentalism or fascism are not welcome and will be banned.

You are allowed to discuss or be critical of religions and cultures, as long as it does not include racism or blatant disrespect of people’s identities, beliefs and faiths.

3. Agenda or Propaganda

Posts that serve, promote, protect and defend Lebanese national interests, unity and security are allowed and encouraged.

Posts that intend to promote sectarian agendas and policies that sow division or hate between Lebanese people along ethnic, regional, religious or sectarian lines are prohibited.

This community is not an outlet for propaganda, lies or falsehoods not based on facts, evidence and reality. Any users not contributing in good faith, but solely to push an agenda, will be banned.

4. Credible Sources

Do not post, circulate or spread misinformation, unconfirmed/fake news, fabrications, rumors, hysteria or conspiracy theories. This includes mainstream news and propaganda outlets. If it’s published by a well-known or popular source, it does not necessarily mean it’s true.

Cite and link to credible, reliable, verified and trustworthy sources. Do your own research, apply critical, logical and deductive thinking and reasoning, and check independent sources to verify and corroborate information.

5. Relevant Content

All content must be relevant, related or of interest or concern to Lebanon or Lebanese people.

6. Editorialized Content

Do not editorialize or post misleading and clickbait titles or content, which includes sensationalism or personal opinion.

Paraphrasing or summarizing is acceptable as long as it reflects and does not affect or alter the content.

7. Low Effort Content

Posts must be descriptive, contain sufficient context, share interesting content or open a meaningful discussion.

Do not post low effort content, including low quality content such as generic memes or influencer related content and drama. This content offers no real discussion value and should stay where it belongs on other social media.

8. Restricted Content

NSFW content, topics and discussion must be marked appropriately along with any potentially triggering or sensitive content.

Graphic or obscene content such as nudity or gore may be allowed if blurred and marked properly.

Sexually explicit content and sexual solicitation are prohibited and may lead to a ban.

9. Advertising or Promotion

Do not engage in advertising or promotion. This includes, but is not limited to, websites, applications, social media accounts/groups and surveys.
