Every meme on this community feels like it’s from someone who hasn’t used linux since the early 2000s. If you’re having to mess with permissions for your desktop’s mount button to work try using a less terrible linux distribution that’s actually made right.

Absolutely not true, I used Linux this year and it was so much useless. I got my HDD autommounted to be accessed in file manager ONLY. when I try to set it up as a drive for my emby, IT WONT BE FOUND AT ALL, CAUSE EQCH FUCKING SOFTWARE NEEDS ITA OWN READ AND WRITE PERMISSION IN LINUX . it’s the Linux that stuck in 1989 with use of terminal dominating for everything. I mean come on, nobody cares sudo shit and want to use that piss poor terminal for anything. To update the software I need to click and update it in Windows, but Linux oh update the entire library, then do sudo apt get … What the hell man ?

If you aren’t enthused you shouldn’t use the enthusiast option.

No, what they’re saying is that you plug in the USB cable, open the file manager and click on the drive in the sidebar. That’s all the skill that should be involved.

Of course, there’s going to be situations where this doesn’t work for whatever reason, but I can’t say I’ve ever seen it.

How to mount drives in windows: Oh, it’s not a filesystem from 1988 with major drawbacks, so you can’t.
