What do you think is the best way to find content you’re interested in on this site?
The two things I recommend are:
- Use Lemmy Explorer and look for communities you think are interesting and have content - subscribe to them.
- Sort by All and scroll several pages. If you see interesting posts, subscribe to the communities.
Then you can sort by Subscribed, but make sure to do either or both of the above now and then because new communities get added.
It would be cool if
Lemmy Explorerwere linked to directly by lemmy instances in a way new users could find it easily. Maybe even a popup when you first log in that says recomments it and maybe some other things for finding communities.I was thinking that too. It would be a lot easier for new users if they were already subscribed to some communities so they get a feed with posts and can get started, ask questions, add or remove communities etc.
Maybe not tie it to Lemmy explorer but at least let people have some starting point.
Or they can at least be directed to browser and sort

I agree. It’d also be cool if you could just click the community link and it’d automatically load your instance-specific link somehow (if it doesn’t already do this?).
It’s gotten better with the latest version, but the link needs to be formatted appropriately, which I’m not entirely on top of.
