    Wasn’t aware that they are still alive.

    Sadly it’s already sold out. Would love sailfish os on my phone. Although I’m not sure how I’d manage without a banking app to provide TANs and stuff like that

    Anyone with real world experience who can tell me about problems?

      I would check out their forms as there’s been a number of ports to Sony phones.

      I feel the same way; I’ve seen some people around here mention SailfishOS but I didn’t really think Jolla were still kicking as a company.

      What’s the situation with SailfishOS? In the past I wasn’t clear on what aspects of the OS (if any) were open? In the past I was under the impression that the UX /UI was proprietary but I can’t remember how I reached that conclusion

      Taking a quick look at the site today, it looks as though certain (maybe enterprise oriented?) software features sit behind a subscription, such as Android app compat

        They had to restructure / remove Russian investment I think, which took time. They’ve been back to regularly releasing updates for around six months. Os is a mix of open and closed as indicated here

        Android support used to be pay once, but now will be sub based in some way, potentially to get the os updates not sure tbh.
