And everyone over 30 wants that exact type of weed, and it takes only a couple trips to the weed store to realize, all the salespeople are uni kids completely borked out of their braincases, and are making shit up on the spot, everytime.
If that kind of weed existed, the over 30 crowd would have been tweeting “omg i found the answer to Ambien, it’s Ooga Booga Skywalker Cake!!!11!”, but they haven’t because it doesn’t exist.
The kids just want to get stoned, make minimum wage, and send you on your way happy, they sincerely know only slightly more than you do, but they’re paid to act as if they’re dope experts.
Nah. I work in a dispo. I’d say about half of us know what we’re talking about. There’s an actual science for people that care to learn, but even most customers eyes glaze over when I try to tell them that this 65% THC 15% Terpene oil pen is gonna give them a better quality high than the 96% THC flavored one. Or that just because THC number is higher, doesn’t mean you’ll get higher.
What specifically should I look for in a weed pen if I want to get high as fuck?
Live rosin is going to be the highest quality of oil you will find in a pen/cartridge. This is solvent-less, meaning no chemicals were used to extract, only heat and pressure. Live Resin is the next best. With either option, look for terpenes over 10%. This will typically be accompanied by lower THC% but worry not, THC is not everything.
Terpenes are the “chemicals” (naturally occurring) that 1. Give weed it’s flavor and smell, and 2. Guide your high along with the THC. Different terpenes will give slightly different effects. These are what determine if a strain is a sleepier one or more energetic one. These usually follow the Indica/Sativa “rules” of Indica generally being sleepier and sativa generally being energy but not always. Anyway, higher terpenes will give a stronger and more pronounced high. And different terpenes give different feelings.
So, look for Live Resin or Live Rosin, with high terpenes. Keep in mind rosin is a bit stinkier and less discreet if you’re trying to keep it unknown. Avoid distillate carts, or oens with over 90% THC, these may give a fast head rush, but drive up your tolerance without giving any long lasting high.
This is the info I was looking for thankyou!!

Baha hahahaha yeah that’d do it
Okay, but how do I get higher without just feeling bad?
What’s the goal? Just to be absolutely blasted? Pain relief? What’s the feeling bad? Headache? Foggy? Drowsy?
I wanna get zooted.
Depending on where you are, different products are available. I work in Oregon, so that’s my product knowledge. I would say if you can get it try some “nanotech” edibles/liquids. The ones I sell are called “Cannabull” and are a high concentrate syrup you can drink directly. The nanotech tends to hit fast and hard, more so than your typical edibles, and they come in small 2 oz bottles in 250mg or 500mg, and a larger 4 or 5 oz bottle that is 1000mg. They are pricier, but you’re getting a lot of THC.
Then there’s RSO or Rick Simpson Oil. This is a high concentrate edible paste. It comes in small plastic syringes for dosing and is typically more of a medicinal product but it will fuck you up. It tastes bitter and consuming an entire syringe won’t taste good but should send you. These are typically cheaper.
If you want standard edibles look for “Solventless” “Live Rosin” as these will be the highest quality oil going into the edibles. These will typically taste good compared to other edible options like RSO. Packages in Oregon are capped for solid edibles at 100mg but many states allow huge single piece edible sales, but avoid cheap products. Avoid distillate.
For a cartridge, I’d recommend again looking for solventless and/or live rosin. Look for a high terpene % And make sure the date is recent. The stability of the higher quality oil for carts isn’t as good as your cheap ones, so you want a cart made in the last couple months. With dab pens, always hit it on the lowest temperature setting possible and try not to take long hits, as both of these will lessen the quality of the oil as you smoke it.
Then there’s dabs. I sound like a broken record but your best and strongest high will be with live rosin products. Typically will be smellier and more brown in color compared to live resin. Diamonds are also a good option, these are pure THC crystals with low terpenes. This hits hard and fast with a typcial head rush, but not as long lasting. With all dabs, the lower temp the better, you can look up what terpenes vaporise the best at different temps but generally I just let my banger cool at least as long as I heated it. (If you’re using an E rig you can look up ideal low temp settings).
Flower can still get you there but it’s less consistent once your tolerance is high. I have heard great things about dry herb vapes for the flower option. Overall though, if you’re not getting as high anymore and smoking more, the best thing is a T break (tolerance break). Even just one week with 0 THC can really make a difference, even if it’s only for a day or two.
Hope something here can help!
Dude, I appreciate you.
Idk I’ve frequented several shops ran by the owner/bud tender who was very particular about their product and while they wouldn’t pitch it as anything ‘magic’ or ‘cure for x’ they’d fairly accurately describe the effects of the different strains they offered. It does depend though, I’ve had just as many experiences as you’ve described, and that’s before accounting that everyone will react somewhat differently to varying levels of different cannabinoids.
My first big thing I tell people looking for really specific effects is that everyone is different so for most people it’s gonna take some trial and error to find exactly what you’ll like, but the generalities apply for a good amount of people.
This is when i finally started liking weed. having a choice of actual shops and going to the one where someone would talk to me about what effects i’m looking for. then giving me a few things to try. now it’s not just some dude trying to sell me their high and getting offended when i don’t like it. legality wasnt what kept me from buying weed all these years, yet weirdly it’s what allowed me to finally enjoy it.
I mean, basically any 5mg gummy is that kind of weed. After that you just gotta pick the one that tastes nice.
They literally have sleep branded gummies and they are amazing.
Sleep gummies will have CBN added, which for a lot of people works great for helping with getting more restful sleep. You can even get them as CBD/CBN only without THC

What’s with the weird over 30 shit? Obsessing over weed strains is a college kid’s game. Also nobody is baked at any dispensary I’ve gone to since it became legal. Pretty sure it’s not allowed
You’re right it’s not allowed.
I’d say you’ve still got a decent chance of getting a high Budtender. Most places aren’t super strict about it as long as you’re not like blasted. But generally the ones who get ultra zooted every shift isn’t last lol
Budtenders are bullshit artists much in the same way LLMs are.
If they ask if you prefer “indica or sativa,” feel free to ignore anything that person has to say on the subject. It isn’t necessarily their fault, but they are severely misinformed, so it isn’t likely anything they say has an actual basis in reality.
? That’s a pretty typical question because the three options are Indica, sativa, and hybrid.
I think I read about a study that did genetic analysis on a lot of cannabis “strains,” and there wasn’t much correlation between a strain being labeled indica or sativa and its genetic make-up.
That being said, different strains of flower do seem to give me somewhat different effects. It could be all in my head, but I don’t think so. All vape pens and edibles I’ve tried feel pretty much the same though.
I replied to bowtie that should answer this.
Indica or sativa is still generally the best way to narrow down what someone wants. And the majority of indicas are gonna be heavier, and a majority of sativas more heady and energetic. That said, there’s lots that don’t. And for places like where I am, without terpene testing for flower, apart from guessing off of smell, indica or sativa is what we got.
It also goes both ways. Some people don’t want to hear new info or try something different. I can’t try to explain that this particular indica is very heady, but if they want their Indica they can get it.
Indica and sativa are literally meaningless, other then they are terms that nonscientific growers came up with to describe the two basic phenotypes they observed when growing. This has now turned into marketing nonsense about the “type” of high experience. There are other psychoactive compounds contained in cannabis and some interact with each other. None of this has to do with the plants’ general appearance.
What about shit that makes you think your house is haunted? I had some of that accidentally.
