Welcome to today’s daily kōrero!

Anyone can make the thread, first in first served. If you are here on a day and there’s no daily thread, feel free to create it!

Anyway, it’s just a chance to talk about your day, what you have planned, what you have done, etc.

So how’s it going?

Kid wanted banana on toast this morning. “Sliced not mashed”, so I asked “the toast or the banana”? Got the answer “the toast”.

Somewhere between the bedroom and the table they got in a grumpy mood, then they got to the table and there’s a dry bit of toast cut in thirds with a whole banana lying across it. They were not impressed, even though it was exactly what they asked for.

Very windy in Auckland last night.

Got woken up by the wind in the middle of the night and went to charge the battery bank just in case.

I used to work with someone who would cancel meetings because of the rain. It was pre-COVID so we weren’t doing online meetings yet. They would organise to come visit for a meeting, but cancel if it meant they had to go in the rain to get there.

Day off today so I got up at my usual time and went for a walk with Mum. 5.5km on a slippery track but we celebrated with a stop at her favourite cafe for breakfast.

This afternoon involves nothing more strenuous than wrangling the crockpot and a few hours of sewing.

Feel so sorry for the trees and plants in our garden, the cold wind is really thrashing them around, hope they don’t suffer too much.

What a chance that was for the Football Ferns last night. Some agonizingly close chances.

Here’s hoping they can get it done against the Swiss, or the Philippines can hold off Norway :)

It’s been a relatively quiet day, After admin and prep for work, I ran a 90 min online workshop, did my books and came home again. Currently doing periodic updates on Windows and Chromebook laptops before heading to a Tai Chi class before home-made burgers later.

When you say home-made, do you have some special recipe or are you assembling store bought parts?
