My old workplace had a really nice backyard. I usually let my dog out there so he could play outside while I was working. Obviously I made sure he had a nice big bowl of water and such every time.

There was an upturned plastic table near some bushes towards the end of the building, and every time he was let out he’d make a beeline for that upturned table, because it had the delicious stagnant water with dead leaves and rubbish in it.

He’d also get tangled in the legs of the table and then stand there, silently staring towards my office.

My german sherherd won’t drink out of the big water jug bowl thing the other dogs use because she’s afraid of the “glug-glug” noise it may or may not make while she’s using it. Instead, she chooses to drink out of the toilet. Fortunately, we were able to convince her that drinking from a semi-clean bowl of water beside the toilet would be a, um… classier choice.

Someone on Reddit once said that their dog died of drinking puddle water because of the spores in the water, while I don’t know if it’s true it probably doesn’t hurt to avoid.

My dogs line up to drink out of the water bowl in the crate despite there being fresh water in their other bowl. We call that the tasty secret prison water.

Theres more than spores to worry about with as much industrial strength super cancer chemicals people put on their lawns these days

also antifreeze is a classic killer and its prob good to train your dog to only drink from the bowl and nothing else

My beagle’s fave place to drink water from is the toilet. He taught my 13 week goldendoodle how to open the toilet lid to drink out of the toilet…
