“The Democrats had a tremendous opportunity to make their candidate about change, but they made them about continuity instead.”

Following Donald Trump’s shocking re-election, Mehdi is joined by Palestinian-American political analyst Yousef Munayyer to unpack what happened — and what it means for the future.

They discuss Gaza’s impact on the election, where the Kamala Harris campaign went wrong, and what a second Trump presidency could mean for US-Israel policy.

It would’ve given her a distinctly opposing policy from both Trump or Biden, but I’m honestly doubtful it would have changed much. Last night was a bloodbath, there’s no other way to say it, and there’s no way 10m voters sat at home just over Gaza.

Idk if you’ve started the interview yet, but I think its the major factor. And its manifested in the youth vote, like they said here.

Not only is youth votership down, AND that demographic went to Trump. This election was 100% about the differences between these two campaigns, and there wasn’t enough distinction. If you didn’t think Gaza mattered this election, you’ve jumped the shark.
