Just out of curiosity and in the spirit of balance, who was our best Prime Minister and why? And who would you vote for next time around?

Lotta fondness for hawke. Most of our environmental protections come from his government - medicare, anti discrimination legislation, telling the uk to fuck off, etc etc.

Plus the guy could belt schooners like the dickens

I personally vote for the parties I want, not the person. But the USA election should be a big warning call to Labor. If they don’t do something about inflation and affordability and hold some of the big corps to account, they’re going to lose.

Which reminds me. We haven’t had a prime minister backstabbing in a while

Labour are out next election. They have tried to break up the unions and now there is a huge hatred of them amongst blue collar workers. Life long labour voters will switch to voting for minor parties. Drawings of nazi albanese are up of lunch room walls all over the place

Menzies oversaw the nation building that occurred after WW2 and everything that has come since has been heavily influenced by his work.

Though I do rate Whitlam and Hawke highly as well so Im pretty happy with responses in this thread!

Not sure about the whole picture, but credit to Keating for bringing in compulsory superannuation.

That one that disappeared at a beach.

No better PM. He fucked off never to be seen again and we named a swimming pool after him.

Whitlam. No competition, most good things in Australia can be traced to the government under him and very few bad things.
