This was mine. A random poppy kit that I think was by Dimensions? I think?

It was 2015 and I’d been meaning to try cross stitch for ages but given my existing yarn collection at the time I couldn’t really afford to jump into a whole new hobby. Hence this kit as a birthday gift, and that was that! Hooray for the enablers in our lives, eh?

Also still have the first random sample rectangle I ever knitted, and my first crochet attempt of a very wonky flower 😄

I do have mine! Somewhere…? It was an Oddish, the pokemon, and I looked nice from a distance, but very messy upclose I used the whole thread so it has a very tapestry feel to it, and the xs are absolutely random. I did do a fantastic job on the tension considering I did it without any hoop or frame, tho, but went my entire childhood freehand embroidering like that on and off.

I’ll try and find it and then I’ll come back here and post the lill frankenOddish.

Here’s the first thing I made

It still hangs, wonky spacing and all haha. I learned to crochet when i was very young, like i don’t even remember learning how, i wish I had the first thing I had made. I could never get the hang of knitting

I remember first thing I ever made was a Stardew Valley dog sprite, second was the Evil Goose (honk). I think I still have them somewhere.

I also try to learn crocheting and have my little square. (That is, if square has like five unequal sides lol)

Nice! I still wear my HONK tshirt proudly, don’t care if it’s a bit outdated now lol.

Are you in the crochet community too? I’m sure people there would love to see your geometry-defying experiments 😆 [email protected] (Lemmy / Kbin)

Now I am :D Perhaps once I’ll have some more peace and time to sit to it, I’ll learn more (I really, really want to make amigurumi), but so far I’m just making Pythagoras spirit very confused with whatever comes out of my hands

Thanks! Yeah I was lucky to not start a lot of crafts until my thirties, it’s much easier to keep track of stuff when you’re not moving around every six months!

Here’s a secret, I’ve only finished one thing since Winter myself and it was really, really small 😂
