Nice, a sane starting time. Too bad they blew the lead late last night (I didn’t see it). Let’s hope for a series win today.
@imasnyper, looks like you might’ve setup a (new) bot for game threads. Kudos! Thank you for all you do for this community! 💙
Same bot, new login! Still working on rewriting the bot to be (a lot) more efficient and to be able to add more features. My thanks to you and everyone else who contributes here as well! It’d be an empty quiet place without everyone else on here! 💙
I like how there’s people here! I found a baseball BlueJays game day thread and it was empty, until I followed the lemmy.ca version.
See ya next game ;)
Happy you found us!
The dome needs an organ player. The 5 sound bits we play over and over were cool 10 years ago, but they’ve run their course now. We need some new sounds at the ballpark.
I love organ players at ballparks (and, I agree, a lot of the SkyDome sound effects could be improved upon)! I remember the Dodgers’ organ player doing more riffs from popular songs in past seasons, and getting a lot more air time at the Stadium in general. I haven’t heard as much as I expected to from the past in what I’ve caught of this series so far (which hasn’t been a ton)
I like what I’m seeing from Yusei! I know Schneider’s said in the past that he doesn’t want personal catchers, but I think I like Jano with Berríos, Kikuchi, and Alek Manoah (the less experienced catchers who probably need more direction/ reassurance from their catcher) and Kirk with the vets, Gausman and Bassitt. Depending on pitcher experience, I think Jano’s superior game calling or Kirk’s superior framing might be more effective. Just a thought
Edit: My categorization above might be more based on feel than facts, in terms of years of MLB experience. They are (including 2023): Bassitt 9 years, Berríos 8 years, Gausman 11 years, Kikuchi 5 years (although he played pro in Japan), Manoah 3 years
What a job there to get out of the inning too.
5.0 IP, 88 pitches. Will he start the 6th? I think they will let him, actually. He’s been really strong of late and I think he’s due a opportunity like this. Facing 4, 5, 6 for a 3rd time though
