First things first, we’d like to thank everyone who supported us through Gitcoin Grants until now. Your help has been of great encouragement. Thank you for supporting the crypto commons! ❤️ We are participating to Gitcoin Grants 15 to get support in making our ReFi event SolarPunk WOW (8-14th october) a reality! ☀️ What is SolarPunk WOW? The Crypto Commons Association ends the first season of events at the Commons Hub with a collective consolidation of its vision, inscribed into a material transformation of the space along solarpunk aesthetics. SolarPunk WOW! combines a hands-on permaculture workshop with an artistic remake of parts of the Hub, an exploration of (gardening) IoT and AI-backed visualization tools and a facilitation skills exchange, all embedded in continuous discussion about the politics and aesthetics of solarpunk and its utility for our cause. In a quest to flesh out a comprehensive and vivid vision of the future we want to work towards, we will go far beyond crypto to dwell on the bigger picture of commons-oriented economies, technologies and, broadly speaking, lifestyles emerging from resistance to the crumbling world of capitalist extraction and systematic environmental degradation. We need your help! As participants will be contributing plenty of work to the Hub‘s material refinement, we want to keep ticket prices symbolic only (50€ registration fee, with excemptions for precarious folks), which leaves us with little resources to cover for all expenses. While we are already intensely searching for grants and sponsors, your support in this Gitcoin Grant round is crucial to cover the following expenses: -2000€ workshop instructors (permaculture, AI visualization, arts, facilitation)  -1000€ 5 days of professional documentation (live stream, post-production) -1000€ gardening tools and materials -500€ art supplies -500€ gardening IoT  The Venue The Commons Hub is a former countryside inn in the Austrian Alps, one hour south of Vienna. Envisioned as a warm, welcoming, and intellectually nurturing environment for digital nomads, artists, DAOs, and projects on retreat, the Hub serves to consolidate the nascent community of crypto commoners and popularize its narrative as a battecry under which progressive forces in crypto can rally. In line with this vision, Solarpunk WOW will be hosted by the Commons Hub as an experimental testing ground for applied post-capitalist innovation in social, economic and technical realms that encourages a playful exploration of desirable futures. Application, Food and Lodging Please fill in this form to apply to the event, we will come back to you at our earliest convenience. Upon acceptance, you will be asked to cover the 50€ ticket fee on our Dandelion event page! In case of financial hardship, the ticket fee can be waived. The ~15 beds in the Hub go for 25€ per night and are allocated based on a strict first come, first serve policy. We furthermore have up to 10 air mattresses for our dorm, which can be used free of charge - same as 3 couches in the living room. In addition, there are a number of hotels and guesthouses nearby, which cater to all kinds of tastes and budgets. Food and drinks will be bought and prepared by participants themselves, we suggest to collect about 10-15€ per person per day. The Organizer The Crypto Commons Association (CCA) is a non-profit organization founded in early 2021 to facilitate the development of digital common goods and infrastructure in the context of DLTs, their academic reception, and analysis, their public accessibility as well as their broad social application. It strives to reach its aims through the organization of events, the production of a full-feature documentary, and the operation of a permanent physical Hub-as-a-Commons. 📞 Contacts and groups Linktree: https://linktr.ee/CCommonsHub Mail : [email protected] Telegram : t.me/joinchat/Vcg9sAXnJ1XY5BBn Twitter : https://twitter.com/CCommonsHub Website : https://www.crypto-commons.org/
