    Gist is that the government officials decided they could reinterpret the law that governed relations between the colonial govt and the natives to their own benefit and people got pissed.

    I often ask for local perspective on the news. As you might have noticed, not all news sources are reliable, and Google is paid to feed you the results rich people want you to see.

        From what i googled (ahem), the Maori dont want to pass a bill that may affect them but the other side said it will benefit all of NZ. i posted to see if someone can add to it.

      Why are people asking questions in a question asking forum? Why won’t people just stay in their little SEO bubble and stop trying to have a soupçon of human interaction? I am so annoyed with this trend of reaching out to other people for consensus or understanding! I’d block this community, but I’d rather ask condescending questions instead
