Hey y’all. I’m in a precarious situation right now. Yes, I am falling in love with someone and I want to approach this in a faithful way. My previous relationships included me putting the other person above everything basically, but I want to put God in the first place this time. It’s probably healthier this way. Any Christian books about phenomenology of love or falling in love that you know of?

Aw, man. Again with the downvotes. I really don’t understand why Lemmy is so hostile. I’m just looking to be happier and more able to love someone the way the are meant to be loved. :(

Maybe putting the boogey man ahead of your relationship?

I think they’re trying to say that god isn’t real and is just a boogey man to scare people into behaving in certain ways.

So, God not being real is the reason he’s being a dick to religious people for no reason? I’ll stick to God then so I don’t do the same

I think it’s more nuanced than that. Religionists are pushing their beliefs on other people on many fronts. (Not you, per se.) It’s been happening for thousands of years, and non-believers are tired of it.

Stumbling into a true believer in an otherwise very secular online forum (Lemmy) is a painful reminder that true believers exist and support the machine.
