Definitely not. Most of the platinum on those sites is stolen from hacked accounts / credit cards. In the case of the former the platinum will be traced back to you and your warframe account can be banned. Not trade-banned, banned-banned. In the case of the latter, the platinum will be removed from your account once the card owner gets their bank to chargeback.

Source: My brother got banned for this.

    Don’t count on it.

Unless the plat is actually acquired legitimately DE may just end up nuking it and force you to pay whatever negative balance you get on your account in order to log in or just straight up ban you. This also happens if you sell stuff in game and the plat you received for an item gets nuked due to having been acquired by someone using a chargeback on their card or similar as DE will simply remove the plat from the game.

Best go through the legit sites for this, so either warframe directly, steam or the various console stores depending on your platform.

It doesn’t matter if the plat is legitimate or not. Any large plat unbalanced trade (e.g. thousands of plat for an ammo drum) is dangerous because it looks like someone is selling the plat for real money, even if the plat was completely legitimate. Rivens are also a problem because their value varies widely.

NO! I was an idiot teenager ages ago and got banned for it. Support unbanned me once they learned I was just dumb with the understanding I won’t do it again. Learned my lesson and only buying legit now.

Additionally, ANY sort of in game trade transaction that can’t take place 100% in a game trade session can get you censured in some way. Never buy or “trade” discount coupons.

I was concerned about this. My bro and I used to play together, so when one of us gets a 75% off we’d buy the highest amount of platinum and share half (plat and payment). Stopped doing it when I saw on the sub it can be a reason for a ban lol.

    No.

Either trade for it (and if you’re worried about received plat being illegitimate, make sure to not spend all your plat for a while) or buy it from DE.

not sure if you’re on PC or console, but it’s quite easy to get plats by trading with other players. check out warframe.market, there are some stuff quite easy to farm, but mostly prime parts.
